Boone Trace Planning Workshops

Led by a National Park Service Consultant

The Friends of Boone Trace are currently conducting Boone Trace planning “workshops” in all five Kentucky counties through which the Trace passes (Bell, Knox, Laurel, Rockcastle and Madison Counties). These are being conducted through the Rivers, Trails and Conservation Assistance Program (RTCA) of the NPS. Their Kentucky representative of the RTCA, Russell Clark, has been assigned to assist in the planning of a Boone Trace multi-use trail through Kentucky, and the workshops are intended as community outreach to get local citizens and officials to engage personally into the planning process. Maps are spread out on tables, and the citizens actually help to identify “assets” of the community as they relate to Boone Trace. It’s an exciting and fun time to do this planning. Refreshments are served, and the public is invited. Please attend in your area. The schedule for the remaining meetings is as follows:
